Appointment of Apostolic Nuncio in Armenia
The Apostolic Nunciature in Armenia hereby communiques that His Holiness Pope Francis appointed His Excellency Monsignor Ante Jozić, titular Archbishop of Cissa, as the new Apostolic Nuncio to Armenia.
The appointment was announced today, June 28, 2024, at the Vatican.
Archbishop Jozić was born in Trilj (Croatia) on January 16, 1967 and ordained priest on the June 28, 1992 in the diocese of Split (Croatia). He has a doctorate in Canon Law (Utroque Iure). He entered the Diplomatic Service of the Holy See on the 1st of July 1999 and has successively undertaken diplomatic duties in the Apostolic Nunciature in India, Russian Federation and at the Study Mission in Hong Kong. Nominated Apostolic Nuncio to Ivory Coast, February 2, 2019 and titular Archbishop of Cissa. Transferred to the Section for General Affairs of the Secretariat of State as Apostolic Nuncio available May 1, 2019. Nominated Apostolic Nuncio to Belarus May 21, 2020. He speaks Italian, Spanish, English, French, Portuguese, German, Russian, Chinese and Polish.
